Due to the low ground clearance, the C5 is notorious for sucking up road debris that will clog the cooling system.  A clogged radiator will result in higher engine temperatures and the potential for overheating.

The Clean Shield is designed to eliminate 80% of the debris that get picked up while driving your Corvette on the street or track. The clean shield saves from possible costly engine repairs by stopping debris before it can block the airflow to the radiator and cause engine failure due to overheating. It is satin finished aluminum.

No Modification or drilling is necessary to put this on. It is pre-drilled and the screw holes line up with the screw holes from the lower front facia of the front bumper. It slides in over the top of the spoiler and underneath the AC condenser and then is secured by the screws that hold the front part. The screws do not have to be changed, you can use the stock screws and this installation, which will probably have to be done on a rack or up on jack stands, is relatively simply and quick.
